The REAL Slap in the Face

While us Cleveland fans are still trying to clear up the dust that LeBron James left from his car tires heading to Miami, LeBron James is doing things in South Beach for the Heat organization that many aren’t taking lightly.

Ever since LeBron James told the Nation he was headed to South Beach he has been acting a little different. What I mean by a little different is he is recruiting players to come to Miami.

LeBron is a changed man.

LeBron met with Derek Fisher at the airport and was the first to greet him. He has called former Cleveland Cavalier teammate, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and convinced him to sign. LeBron has also reached out to Jawad Williams, another Cavalier that he played with. He also has talked with good friend, Mike Miller, Joel Anothey and Jamal Magloire. James might have done more recruiting as well that hasn’t been reported. While LeBron is recruiting hard and trying to convince players to take less money to chase a Championship, Cleveland may see this as a slap in the face.

Where was this when James was in Cleveland? He might have done as much recruiting in 2 weeks for the Heat than 7 years for the Cavaliers. Sure he might have tried to convince players to come play with him in Cleveland but not like this.

Also what about taking less money for the Cavalier organization like he did with the Heat? If he truly wanted to win a Championship for Cleveland, why didn’t he take less money here so the Cavaliers could offer other star players the max deal?

This guy is a true Cavalier

What about signing an extension 3 years ago? That way the Cavaliers could actually build around him and not make short-term moves that would cost them in the long run?

With LeBron recruiting so hard down in Miami, Clevelanders have to wonder, was his heart really in Cleveland to begin with?

  1. Great post, I really enjoyed reading it! I think that Lebron showed he isn’t born with the same mentality as guys like Jordan and Kobe by choosing to join Wade and Bosh in Miami. It somewhat surprised me that he didn’t want to take the lead and show that he is one of the best leaders of all-time and carry his team to an NBA championship. It seems like it would be so much sweeter to win 1 championship in Cleveland rather than win 3 in Miami. But that’s just me. Also, you think you could check out my blog cuz I really wanna know your opinion on my thoughts. http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2010/07/19/forget-lebron-dwyane-wade-is-still-king-of-south-beach/
